The Darling Downs Eisteddfod Inc. was established in 2020 as a non-for profit and is an annual event held on the Darling Downs in Millmerran Queensland.
In its beginnings that event aimed to incorporate all arts faculties, with the inclusion of Speech and Drama, Music, Vocals and Dance. Following a number of hard years the decision was made in 2022 to only continue the event as a Dance Eisteddfod.
DDE is organised by a small committee but would not be possible without all the lovely people and businesses who contribute to our event, whether it be a volunteering for 5minutes as a compare or sponsoring a section. We thank each and everyone of you for making our event possible.
In 2021 DDE was lucky enough to receive the Community Group Event of the Year at the Australia Day Awards Ceremony in Cecil Plains.
DDE has been lucky enough to have competitors enter from far north Queensland, Central New South Wales and everywhere in between. This has given DDE one of the most diverse ranges of competitors based in a regional area, kindle new life long friendships, inspire young talent and the the opportunity for our entrants to achieve and thrive in their chosen genre.
The DDE prides itself on being a friendly, progressive, organised and inclusive event and hopes that it will continue to grow and flourish in the years coming. Putting the competitors first and creating an event that is always fresh and bringing opportunities to regional areas.
We look forward to welcoming new and old faces to DDDE 2022!!
